Terms of Service

These terms govern the use of Pocat (the "Service"), a learning service provided by 임재웅 (the "Operator"). They take effect on 2026-09-23.

Article 1 (Purpose)

These terms set out the rights, obligations and responsibilities of the Operator and of users in relation to the Service.

Article 2 (Effect and amendment)

  1. These terms take effect when they are posted on the Service.
  2. The Operator may amend these terms within the limits of applicable law.
  3. Amendments are posted on the Service or on this page at least 7 days before they take effect, together with their effective date. Amendments unfavourable to users are posted at least 30 days in advance.
  4. A user who does not agree to the amended terms may stop using the Service and delete their account.

Article 3 (Identifying users)

  1. The Service has no separate sign-up procedure; users are identified by signing in through an external authentication service (Auth0), using Apple, Google or email.
  2. The Operator uses the identifier issued by that authentication service as the account for the Service.
  3. Accounts created with different sign-in methods are treated as separate accounts even when the same person uses them, and are not merged automatically.
  4. Users are responsible for their own sign-in credentials and must not let anyone else use them.

Article 4 (What the Service does)

  1. The Service helps you save knowledge you gained from conversational AI and other sources as cards, learn it, and then review it at spaced intervals.
  2. Cards are saved through the AI tool (connector) you connect. At the time of saving, part of the conversation (a source excerpt) is kept together with the cards.
  3. You can ask the AI tool to create a multiple-choice Test from a saved batch, and it changes or deletes that Test only when you explicitly ask. Test results do not affect your cards' learning state or review schedule.
  4. The review schedule is calculated by the server using a fixed algorithm. No particular learning outcome is guaranteed.
  5. The Service can be used with the same account in the iPhone and iPad app and in a web browser.
  6. The Service is a knowledge-learning tool for general audiences and is not designed or promoted to explicitly target children under 13.

Article 5 (User content and AI-generated cards)

  1. Rights in the source excerpts and card contents a user saves belong to the user or to the original rights holder. The Operator stores and displays them only as far as providing the Service requires.
  2. The text of a card is generated by the conversational AI the user uses. The Operator does not verify and does not warrant its accuracy. Please check the original source for anything important.
  3. Users must not save content that infringes the rights of others or that the law prohibits.
  4. The Operator does not use card contents for advertising, public disclosure, model training or any purpose other than providing the Service.

Article 6 (Trial and Premium purchases)

  1. Free trials are introductory subscription offers provided by the App Store. Eligibility and duration depend on your Apple account and the purchase confirmation screen. Unless cancelled, a subscription with a free trial automatically renews at the displayed price after the trial.
  2. Premium is available as a monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Premium removes the monthly saving limit and unlocks locked batches. A fair-use limit of 50 saved batches per day applies to the trial and every Premium plan.
  3. Prices and subscription periods and renewal conditions are those shown on the App Store purchase screen. Apple processes payments; the Operator does not receive your payment details.
  4. Monthly and yearly subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel in the App Store subscription settings at least 24 hours before the next renewal date.
  5. Lifetime access is a one-time, non-consumable purchase providing Premium while the purchase entitlement remains valid. It does not renew automatically. Buying lifetime access does not cancel an existing App Store subscription; cancel that subscription separately. Article 9 on changes and discontinuation also applies to lifetime access.
  6. After changing devices or reinstalling, use Restore Purchases in the app with the same Apple Account. Restoring on a different Pocat account may transfer the purchase entitlement to that account. Cards and learning records are not transferred automatically.
  7. Apple handles refunds under its policy. A refunded or revoked purchase, including lifetime access, may end the relevant Premium entitlement. See Refunds.

Article 7 (Free Access and access after a purchase ends)

  1. Saved cards and source excerpts are not deleted when a trial or subscription ends. Unlocked batches remain available for learning and review.
  2. In Free Access without an active trial or Premium entitlement, batches saved by AI are stored locked. Saving, retrying or opening batch details alone does not use a free unlock.
  3. You can choose up to three batches to unlock for free each month. Explicitly choosing a free unlock in the iPhone or iPad app uses one allowance slot. Explicitly importing a public batch may use a remaining slot to unlock its copy. The allowance resets at 00:00 on the first of each month in Korea time (Asia/Seoul); the reset does not automatically unlock any batch.
  4. Locked batches show previews such as the title, card count and first card's prompt. Unlock them before using full learning, review or Tests. In the app, use a remaining free unlock or purchase Premium. Unlocked batches can be studied during Free Access, and edited or deleted in the app.
  5. Ordinary subscription cancellation or expiry, or the end of a trial, does not re-lock unlocked batches. If a refund ends Premium access, batches saved or unlocked with paid access during the refunded purchase's valid period may be locked again, but batches and cards are not deleted. Batches opened with a free unlock or a legacy app-managed trial are not locked by that refund.

Article 8 (Prohibited conduct)

You must not:

  1. Interfere with the normal operation of the Service, or send excessive requests by automated means
  2. Access the Service or its servers without authorization, probe them for vulnerabilities, or attempt to reverse-engineer them
  3. Use someone else's account or authentication method
  4. Save or distribute content that violates the law or these Terms
  5. Save payment card numbers, government identifiers, medical records, passwords, API keys or other authentication secrets, or one-time verification codes. The Service refuses save requests that look like such content.
  6. Save personal information of children under 13 or below the applicable legal age of consent for personal-data processing in cards, source excerpts, Tests or other material, or ask a connected AI tool to retrieve or receive it. When the Operator identifies such content or requests, it refuses the request or restricts use of the affected material and takes necessary measures, including deletion.

Article 9 (Changes to and suspension of the Service)

  1. The Operator may change the Service or discontinue parts of it. Significant changes are announced in advance.
  2. Provision of the Service may be interrupted temporarily for maintenance, faults, natural disasters or other unavoidable reasons.
  3. If the Service is discontinued entirely, it is announced at least 30 days in advance, with a period during which users can review what they saved.

Article 10 (Account deletion and termination)

  1. You can delete your account yourself at any time under Settings > Delete account in the iPhone and iPad app or on the web. You can also ask at contact@pocatai.com or through the contact page.
  2. Deleting your account deletes the saved cards, source excerpts, learning and review records, Tests and their results, and your sign-in account, and none of it can be restored.
  3. If you seriously breach these Terms, the Operator may restrict or end your use after notifying you. In urgent cases the Operator may act first and notify you afterwards.
  4. Deleting your account while a subscription is active does not cancel the App Store subscription. Please cancel it separately in the App Store.

Article 11 (Limitation of liability)

  1. The Operator does not warrant the accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose of the card contents provided through the Service.
  2. The Operator is not liable for damage arising from causes beyond its control, such as natural disasters, communication failures or causes attributable to the user.
  3. This article applies only to the extent permitted by applicable law and does not apply to damage caused by the Operator's intent or gross negligence.

Article 12 (Personal information)

The handling of personal information is governed by the Privacy Policy.

Article 13 (Governing law and disputes)

  1. These terms and the use of the Service are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
  2. Disputes between the Operator and a user are to be resolved through good-faith discussion.
  3. A dispute not resolved by discussion is heard by the court having jurisdiction under the Korean Civil Procedure Act.

Addendum

These terms take effect on 2026-09-23.

Public batches

Before publishing a batch you created and unlocked, choose a public nickname, review the entire public content and consent to publication. Only the title, tags, card prompts, answers, elaborations and public nickname are published. Source excerpts, Tests, favorites and learning or review records remain private. Publish only material you have the right to share. Do not post others’ personal information or unlawful, hateful, threatening, sexually exploitative or otherwise objectionable content.

Publication permits other users to save and edit an independent copy within Pocat for personal learning. Republishing captured copies is not supported. Private edits do not automatically update the public version; updating it requires separate confirmation. Withdrawal, original deletion or creator account deletion prevents new access and Capture but does not erase copies already saved by others or their learning records. Capturing a public batch uses the usual Capture access, Trial, monthly free allowance, daily limit and refund relocking policies.

Report objectionable content or block its author in the app. Operators may hide a publication or suspend publishing after reviewing reports. Republishing does not lift these restrictions. Reach us through the contact page.
